Fall/ Winter Colour Trend 2011

IN THE MOMENT

BOLD or Emerald GREEN....
Last year emerald and bright greens kept popping up on runways and now, it’ appears to be trending on the streets. This jewel-tone provides a rich addition and a touch of elegant sophistication as well as gives an overall edge when used for accessorizing - be it a bag, jewellery, skirt or coat. Start adding some green to your wardrobe, but make sure it's that deep, jewel-tone green. I have sourced some great street style examples for you below that are sure to inspire.

// UBER-ADDICTED \\

When living in London I had a very sweet, kind, talented, funny, creative, caring, & uber fashionable friend in the name of Zoe Glazebrook.
Zoe, her writer/illustrator beau, two suitcases & two cats Iggy and Otis recently made the brave move to pack up all their worldly possessions & up sticks to the creative hub that is Berlin.
Suddenly finding themselves immersed in the cultural buzz of this new city - that they have chosen to call their new home for the unforeseeable future - in search of a new and prosperous Life experience & so their fantastic blog UBERLIN was born! Giving us folk (that aren't quite brave enough to make the same move) a taster of what city life is really like in this cool and creative hub!
After reading their very first post aptly titled 'Let's Go', I have been addicted ever since....
Canvassing everything from their interests in the worlds of food, music, art, design, technology, culture and style I can guarantee you that you too will soon be hooked. I have included some great imagery from their blog below.
Happy browsing!!!
xoxo

I saw this image on Elle.com & was instantly drawn her eye catching skirt.
This girl makes a real statement in this outfit with her fabulously indulgent gold metallic pleated skirt & I know some people may look at this picture & think there are waaay too many trends going on - polka dots, pleats, metallic, backpack, fur coat - but I think she portrays the shall we say 'je ne sais quoi'  to pull it off effortlessly!!!

Spotted: The Leopardstown Races
Who: Alana & Lauren - Make-Up Forever colleagues

Style: Vintage Granny Chic!
You wouldn't expect the kind of clothes associated with your gran to be considered stylish but
these girls wrapped up against the cold in cosy fur jackets, scarves, warm tights & red lipstick to make for a quirky little outfit. 'Granny chic' has featured heavily on the catwalk and is now making its way onto the high street, fuelled by celebrities like Alexa Chung, Agyness Deyn and the Geldof girls - Embrace!!! ;)

// LONDON STYLE \\

Spotted: Grafton Street, Dublin 2
Who:  Ed from London, over in Dublin with his girlfriend & working for Superdry clothing

Style: Ed depicts the typical London style to me.  Thick rimmed clear lensed geek chic glasses, pea coat, skinny black jeans, old skool trainers & a hairstyle that all correlate together perfectly to match with the typical 21st century nonchalance and confidence - a look I could never resist!!!

Spotted: College Green, Dublin 2
Who:  Eva from Cologne, Germany - living in Ireland studying English

Style: Eva demonstrates winter fashion at its finest. If she was freezing her lil tush off she sure wasn't showing it in this perfect classic navy pea coat & skinny jeans combo teamed with cool vintage camel coloured 'Reporter Bag' & boots which both she had picked up in a shop in Germany.
The clash of light coloured accessories over dark navy gives this winter look a refreshingly lighter feel.
