When I worked in London I was lucky enough to attend many a press day. I used to love the feeling when first entering the show rooms, full of dummies gloriously clad in the labels exclusive apparel - it gives you a real sense of excitement knowing that you are one of the first lucky few to view the designs up close and personal and also to see the clothes in greater detail than than you would when you see them in a lookbook or on the runway.

One press day that I had always wanted to go see but never got the chance to was ASOS so I got very excited when I came across this blog with the images of the New In or Coming Soons from the ASOS press day. You're probably thinking that these images were taken just a few days ago but in fact Shini of Park & Cube actually attended this press day a whopping 4 months & 9 days ago. Shini was tortured with an embargo on publishing her pics etcera until this victorious day where she could finally publish & bless the public with these wonderful pics.
So make yourself comfortable, sit back & enjoy the
Awesomeness that is ASOS xoxo

// FALL/WINTER 2010/11 TREND \\

The Lace Dress

Dare to bare this winter with this seasons cute & romantic new lace trend; in either 'Dark Romantic' bad girl black lace or in white or nude for the more romantic/angelic version.

Below Anna De La Russo wears the trend only as Anna De La Russo could, working the goth glam in black lace & looking fabulous in angelic white.
This hit boudoir-dressing trend continues to cast its spell of feminine mystique throughout the runways editorials & fashionistas alike.

How To Wear It

My very first memory of lace was probably the table cloth on my grand mothers dining room table when I was a little girl, oh how my perspective of this delicate material has changed.
This time round the lace isn't a table covering, doily or even an added detail of a garment, it IS the garment and thus we have the Fall/Winter 2010/11 lace dress.
The ultimate balance of lace in 2010 / 2011 is to be romantic but not over-girly; sensual but not over-suggestive.
Dare to wear them without a slip underneath like my fave fashionista Anna De La Russo (in Ireland I think not) but in a warmer more fashion forward city perhaps.
Just keep the hem a little longer to maintain that aforementioned balance.

Ola!
I am literally just back from ten glorious days spent between the two cities of Barcelona & Frankfurt, so apologies for the severe 'lack' of blog posts of late.
To ween myself back into reality ever so gently here is a simple post devoted to shoes glorious shoes, with some images I can only describe as aesthetic fabulousness.
Chunkiness, colour blocking, great detailing & embellishment are all the order of the day.
Which are your fave?!?

RoCkInFaShIoN Feature Special: Fashion Diary

I just want to say a big thank you to all the ladies in U Magazine for taking an interest in RoCkiNFaShIoN & approaching me to appear in their magazine for their 'Fashion Diary' feature.
Basically what I had to do was take a photo of what I was wearing everyday for 10 consecutive days & provide a little information about what I was doing, where I was going, what I was wearing & where I got them from.
Luckily it was a busy week with festivals, album launches, gigs & the likes so there was plenty of ensembles to work with.
So without further adieu you can catch a glimpse of the article below, hope you like it :)

Leopard Print

I have never been a fan of leopard print.... ever!
I just never felt the 'connection' with it I suppose you could say. Now on the other hand my sister was the polar opposite, as she had everything from dresses to shoes to bags in the print. Maybe she had an ulterior motive where she knew I would be less likely to thieve her clothes if a majority of them were in leopard print!!! :)
But...... it's official....we're seeing spots all over the runways & this time it has really caught my attention.
I don't know if it is because of how elegantly it is styled in editorial shoots or the charisma that the Balmain & co. runway models has brought or the cool factor that so many people papped in street style blogs brings but either way, I am now officially in love with it, especially the long faux fur coat (which you will se plenty of examples in a selection of street style pics below), it gives you that cool grubby-glam look for day or evening.
So get out your animal instincts this fall and opt for leopard, well, everything. Even better, forget the wait and start now with lighter hues like grays and pastels. I am already sporting a long LP cardigan which I'm sure you will get to see in an upcoming style post soon.
So I say embrace the trend but remember one very imprtant tip.... don't go for the fashion over-kill of head to toe leopard print á la Bet Lynch from Coronation Street. Just stick to one (if you are bold/brave enough two) statement pieces & keep the hair and make-up simple and to a minimal.
Either way, you'll spot this obsession in the form of body-con dresses, long coats, layered tops and the occassional handbag or clutch - and I can't wait.
