The Aviator

No longer reserved for pilots, the aviator jacket is on this season's most wanted list.
The aviator jacket in leather and shearling is such a perfectly classic piece.
Since the alluring vision of chunky leather shearling boots & aviator jackets gracing the catwalk of Burberry Prorsum in February (you can see my selection of favourite pieces below for your viewing pleasure), the aviator shearling & leather trend has most definitely become a trans-seasonal wardrobe essential - perfect for glamming down floaty romantic & floral dresses that are so in this season & at the same time will keep you nice & fashionably cosy.

My Top 5 High Street Choices

The Aviator trend is thankfully filtering through into the high street stores just in time for our autumn/winter wardrobe shopping.

If I had a wish list that I could afford, these Balenciaga Fall 2010 shoes would be right on Top!

...... & as Jane so perfectly put it on her blog Sea of Shoes , " Plastic aquamarine, mahogany crocodile, stacks of colorful marbley prints, orthopedic looking platform attachment & foam pads...its a shoe of the future! Beautiful."
Not much more you can say after that!!!

Now check out the alternative styles & colours that you can also get these prodigious Balenciaga shoes in.

This fantastic fashion illustration of the Balenciaga shoe was done by a girl called Jannelle Burger from Paris whom describes herself quite humorously as, "a girl that draws in her apartment most days & enjoys taking photos of men outside my window with baguettes in their hands while riding a bike, if they're wearing a beret thats a bonus."
You can check out more of her gorgeous fashion illustration drawings here at her cute self-titled blog, Janelle Burger

I just HAD to dedicate a whole post entirely to looking at 3 of my favourite designers & it is a complete coincidence that they all begin with the letter B: Balmain, Balenciaga & Burberry Prorsum of course!
Burberry were all about the ridiculously gorgeous (giant-collared) jackets & amazing boots - either right up to the thigh or (my favourite) shearling-lined boots bristling with straps. Geometrics & refreshingly bright colours was what Balenciaga's computer-aged vision of couture was all about. While Balmain focused on the heavily sequenced metallic pants, gold & brocade design.
Although the collections were designed from 3 completely different concepts; one thing they all had in common was their fabulousness.
I'll have one of everything please!!!
