Ola!
I am literally just back from ten glorious days spent between the two cities of Barcelona & Frankfurt, so apologies for the severe 'lack' of blog posts of late.
To ween myself back into reality ever so gently here is a simple post devoted to shoes glorious shoes, with some images I can only describe as aesthetic fabulousness.
Chunkiness, colour blocking, great detailing & embellishment are all the order of the day.
Which are your fave?!?

I don't tend to like many of the 80's revival fashion trends that have come back around but I did get excited during a recent stroll through Urban Outfitters to discover that brand new jelly shoes are yours (or mine) for the buying. These are the classic design - straight out of the 80s, no updating to make it cool by today's terms.
It totally brought upon a serious case of fashion nostalgia from when I was a little girl on holidays in France, wearing my sparkly pink jellies with everything & anything I could get away with.
But apart from being so cute I find that they are far more practical to wear in Irish weather than pumps.
I am officially over the pump trend. With our unpredictable Irish weather, they are the opposite of practical.
You feel every god forsaken lump, bump & stone on the ground & if it rains even in the slightest bit they will soak right through in a matter of seconds & will stay that way for the remainder of the day!
I'm sure many of you fellow Irish Cailín will agree with me on this one....
Anywho with my rant about pumps out of the way, here are a few pics of the re-invented noughties version of jellies that I picked up recently in River Island. I love them.... they are uber comfortable, weather durable & the pretty embellishment gives them such a cute little twist.
My next purchase is definitely going to be the more luxurious Melissa & Vivienne Westwood collaboration 'Ultra Girl Bow Jelly Shoe' as well as a classic 'straight out of the 80s' pair of course.

// EMBELLISHED BROGUES \\
Inspiration
If you fancy giving your dwindling, worn-to-death brogues a much needed makeover, why not get all creative & give them a second lease of life by embellishing them with anything from studs to rhinestones which you can pick up in any arts & craft shops.
If you are not feeling that adventurous you could even just spray paint them a different colour - I sprayed my, not so white anymore, brogues a metallic silver - & voila you've got yourself a brand new pair of shoes xoxo

Part II
In March just gone I had posted the images from Alexander McQueens last ever collection which was revealed to only a select group of editors in an ornate Parisian salon.
The collection was Amazing & wait until you see these.....
Here are the close-up images of his shoe & handbag collection for Fall 2010 & they are just breathtakingly beautiful!!!
The details - especially in the shoes - are monumental.
I just had to share these images with you, from the wing-embroidered & gold spike/jewel embellished platform sandals to his 'signature' skull dark brown leather bag - they are literally a work of art.
I can only imagine the waiting list!!!!

// THE 5 WONDERS OF THE SHOE WORLD\\
ANDREIA CHAVES
ANDREIA CHAVES
Footwear designer Andreia Chaves, has created 5 magnificent design wonders to hit the shoe world.
Each shoe is literally an individual work of art.
Born & raised in the busy metropolis of Sao Paulo, Brazil - Chaves has created 5 very different design concepts based on her understanding that beauty can be found in chaos, a concept that reveals itself in each of her footwear designs.
Take a look at the 5 'fantastically quirky' concepts below & enjoy the fresh intake of innovativeness that she brings out in all of her shoe designs.
I have a feeling they will cause quite a stir with the IT crowd among the fashion scene!!!
