This season Karen Millen celebrates opulence with deep rich colours and textures, beautiful hand-worked details and sumptuous materials including lace, faux fur and shearlings, creating truly exquisite pieces to treasure. Here are some images I took on the day...

Colour Connoisseur

Intense colour is key for both day and night. In this Karen Millen A/W story there is a rich peacock blue velvet dress with silk straps and ruffles adding another dimension to the story. You can also find a vibrant electric blue statement coat or a luxurious plush aubergine velvet trouser suit.
Winter lace adds another dimension in sleek paneled dresses or decadent cocktail dresses that play on different weights & styles of lace.

New York City Girl

The Seventies trend still lives on this season in sleek, sporty daywear.
From knee length skirts teamed with blush blouses and knee-high leather boots, to blanket coats  & stretch suede long boots.

I popped into Karen Millen's Christmas Collection 2010 Preview in The Cliff Town House (formerly Bentley's) on the Green right before work this morning. I was welcomed by the lovely Gemma Kenny from Presence PR who showed me around the beautiful antiquated show room.
Half an hour & 61 photo's later I finally managed to drag myself away from all the alluring clothes to my make my way (with dragging heels I might add) back to work. Ian Galvin - Aurora Fashions Chairman - was there for the morning ready & waiting for whatever questions us fashion bloggers or fashion media had to throw at them. Unfortunately as time was of the essence for me I didn't have the pleasure but alas I hope the pictures I took of the luxuriously classic collection will tell a 1000 words instead.....

The limited edition capsule collection consisted of a wonderful mix of subtly embellished evening wear, satin & ruffled dresses, classic pieces such as tweed trousers to on-trend separates... all which to die for. The embellished velvet & chiffon dress, aviator brown leather jacket, dramatic ruffle dress & camel cape topping my wishlist.
Most pieces are in store now & more are to follow in the coming weeks.
